I think its great that Essence has accepted gay marriages. Love is a beautiful thing and since in my generation gay marriages are becoming more & more popular. I disagree that being gay should be hidden. These women are brave because being gay and being the first couple in this magazine is bringing a lot of attention to them. I support love and marriage. I do not pass judgement on gays and this magazine apparently doesnt either.
I think by putting this picture up, Essence is showing a little maturity. I don't really think that too many magazine's would post a picture of a gay couple under their wedding section. This shows that people who are gay are not afraid to show themselves; which is awesome, and this also shows how Essence makes their acceptance to gay and lesbian. In my opinion this could possibly help their ranking with subscribers. Spencer Young.
