I think that the cartoonist Jen Sorensen is saying that the senate republicans see women as not caring about men getting paid more, they think that women are just supposed to sit back and let the men work while they work and do the house work and are still not getting the same pay. For example, Darla Snyders comment "The guy next to me gets paid 10k more. But thats fine." That comment shows women as being quiet and not speaking out or not caring. Sorensen is also showing that they look at women as supposed to be caregivers to the house and children, why should they work?
