How has the treatment of women in the music industry changed in those 54 years? Does it upset you at all? Which way would you prefer to be treated?

  1. Well obviously these are two very very different songs. In the Hank Williams song he only refers to the girl as good lookin whereas The Ying Yang Twins mainly refer to the girl as bitch. The Ying Yang Twins have alot of vulgarity in their song, while Hank Williams is more sweet and innocent. I wouldn't quite say that it upsets me personally, taking into consideration that I like both songs. Yet it does bother me a little. Obviously I would prefer a more gentlemanly manner of things like Hank Williams

  2. I feel almost as if this is a difference in genre rather than a difference in generation. Even in today’s country music you never hear the male singers refer to women as "bitches" or any thing like that. I agree that the times have changed a lot and that it does play a role but over all Country music still is respectful towards women for the most part. I would rather be treated in the form that Hank Williams treats girls. I’m and HUGE Hank fan!
