EC option for 9/6: Women MCs: Doing double what a dude could do

Women MCs: Doing double what a dude could do
I've watched about 10 minutes of this video about the history of women MCs and really like it so far. What do you think?
How are they taking a feminist approach to this video?

  1. They explain in this video that women MC's do no receive as much exposure as men do. This is unfair in the music industry. It is probably seen that women are "unfit" to do what a man is "innate" to do. Most rappers are male and when a female tries to do what a man does it causes conflict, and inequality sets in. It is great to see the women who have made it thus far in the music industry and some have even surpassed men. These women are strong-willed and deserve to be where they are at. It's just unfair how hard they have had to work to get to where they are today, which probably isn't even half of the work a male rapper has had to do.

  2. I've watched "My Mic Sounds Nice" when it came on BET August 30th. I am a Female EmCee and a lyricist and for a woman to step up to a guy in a free style battle or a performance is amazing. as they said in the video, it makes a man feel threaten by nature. because in our society the male is dominate in every way. So when a man is performing he already has an upper hand when it comes to conviction and presence to a crowd. So for a woman gets on the stage and she shows conviction, and she shows authority she becomes praised and you have that feeling of yes im a women and i can do everything u can do and be better at it if my "Talent" is above yours.
